Cycling in the Highlands
Inverness and its surrounding area offers a variety of routes for cyclists – from road routes to more challenging mountain biking routes.
The annual Loch Ness Etape has really put Inverness on the bucket list for many cyclists.
Cyclists are welcome at Otter Cottage where bikes can be stored inside the cottage. You can cycle right from the front door of the cottage along the Caledonian Canal and then continue along the River Ness in to Inverness city centre.
Drumossie Bothy also has storage for bikes with designated bike racks.
Forestry Commission Scotland provide information on a number of routes. Popular routes close to Inverness include Laggan Wolftrax, on the edge of Cairngorms National Park or the more gentle Culbin Forest.
