COVID-19 policy
As a responsible accommodation provider, we have taken every precaution to ensure that your stay with us at Caledonian Holiday Lets is as safe as possible with regard to COVID-19.
We have based this policy on the guidance published by the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers.
Upon arrival
When you arrive at one of our properties you will find hand sanitiser, disposable gloves, disposable face masks and a packet of anti-bacterial wipes clearly visible in the kitchen. These are for your use during your stay and we ask that you use the hand sanitiser immediately.
Enhanced cleaning and hygiene procedures
The duvets and pillows are replaced after each stay in our properties. The mattress is sprayed with disinfectant spray and covered with a mattress protector (also replaced after each stay).
The bed linen and towels are washed at 60 degrees to kill any virus or bacteria. Pillow protectors are also used. All bed linen, protectors and towels are replaced after each stay.
When cleaning the property in between stays the windows are opened to allow the property to air. All surfaces are cleaned with appropriate cleaning products to kill any virus or bacteria. This includes:
- Windows (inside and out)
- All tables, chairs and furniture
- All kitchen surfaces, appliances and crockery
- All sanitary ware in the bathroom
We use Karndean for all our floors in our properties as this surface can be thoroughly hoovered and mopped with disinfectant to kill any bacteria.
All light switches, door handles, keys and the key safe itself are disinfected before your arrival.
You will find a completed cleaning checklist, signed and dated by a member of Caledonian Holiday Lets team upon your arrival.
During your stay
There is a supply of cleaning materials in the kitchen cupboard under the sink in each property. We would ask that you maintain good hygiene practice whilst staying with us.
When out and about in Inverness and the surrounding area, please follow the guidelines in place at our shops, bars, restaurants, visitor attractions and public spaces. The people of the Highlands have been welcoming tourists for years and we all want this to continue but this is only possible if everybody sticks to the public health guidance which is there for our own safety.
If you develop COVID-19 symptoms whilst staying at one of our properties
Should you develop symptoms of COVID-19 then you should follow this process:
- Inform helen@caledonianholidaylets.com or 07967 506 299
- Inform NHS Scotland’s Test & Protect service either online at https://www.nhsinform.scot/test-and-protect or by calling 0800 028 2816
- Please note that if a guest fails to inform NHS Scotland’s Test & Protect service then Caledonian Holiday Lets will do so. We take the public health of our community extremely seriously.
- You will be required to return home to self-isolate. Please note that this measure is based on government guidance.
- If you develop acute symptoms or breathing difficulties then you should seek medical assistance by calling 111 or visiting https://111.nhs.uk/
We want you to enjoy your stay with us and be healthy whilst you are here. We will do everything we can to make your stay as safe and enjoyable as possible and would ask that you show the same courtesy and respect to us, the local community where our properties are based, and future guests by following this guidance.
Upon departure
We ask you to strip the bed and place all dirty linen (including pillow and mattress protectors) and towels in the bin liners found in the kitchen cupboard under the sink. This is to minimise the risk of infection.
We would also ask you to open the windows to allow the air to circulate.
Please follow the guidance in the information folders in each property regarding bins and dispose of your rubbish. The bins are clearly labelled for general waste, recycling and glass.
Thank you for choosing Caledonian Holiday Lets. We hope that these COVID-19 guidelines give you peace of mind that your stay will be as safe as possible.
